Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe comes from a multi-cultural family. She was born in South London. Both her parents were both English. She was raised on a council estate located south of London. When she was 14she enrolled in The Brit School. It was the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art is where she obtained the BA in acting. She appeared in many performances on stage during her school days, including the stage productions King Henry V and Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe's acting career started with Storm Damage. In the years since Madekwe's appearance in Teachers as well as Doctors. Madekwe scored her first motion picture role in the Woody Allen film Cassandra's Dream, opposite Colin Farrell and Ewan McGregor. The film's success led her to play Elisha as a one-off BBC Three drama West 10 LDN pilot. Later, she appeared in six episodes Trexx and Flipside as Ollie. In the ITV2 show Secret Diary of a Call Girl featured her in 2008 playing Bambi. Madekwe made an appearance in the 2008 comedy film How to Lose Friends & Get People to Leave. Theatre credits for Madekwe include Little Sweet Thing and Flight Path.
Madekwe was cast as Ashley Davenport in the ABC Drama The Beautiful Life. The two-episode show aired only for the duration of two weeks The CW and then it was cancelled. Ashley Davenport was her role in ABC's drama Revenge. Madekwe was a regular in the ABC drama series Revenge for two seasons. It was revealed in May 2013 that she was set to be leaving the series following one guest appearance on the first season of the third. In the television series Salem in 2014, she portrayed Tituba between 2014 and 2016. Madekwe was married to her long-time love, Iddo. They collaborated on Secret Diary of a Call Girl. He also played with her on Salem.
Ashley Leggat was born in Hamilton, Ontario, into a large, extended family. Her parents were Roy and Patty along with her older brothers -Rob, Brett, and twins Todd and Bram. Ashley's brothers were athletic and played baseball during summers and hockey during winters. Ashley didn't walk, instead she was a dancer. In the age of two and half she discovered Baby Ballet. Ashley began to develop a love of dancing after she started Baby Ballet. Ashley continued to dance competitively throughout high school at the top levels of competitions, such as tap, Jazz, Ballet and Pointe. She also competed in Acrobatics, Acrobatics Musical Theatre, Lyrical Hip Hop, and more. Ashley won the best soloist honor at each major dance contest, which included International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, to name just the few.
